Pickleball on the Costa del Sol is still young but growing fast — from dedicated pay-to-play courts out at Mijas to small members-only setups closer to the city centre. We played at Daryl Collins Tennis Academy in Mijas (listed as Pickleball Mijas Fuengirola), and analyzed the match with PBVision.
Listed as Pickleball Mijas Fuengirola, this is one of the bigger dedicated pickleball setups on the Costa del Sol — 8 outdoor acrylic courts with permanent lines and nets, pay-to-play with no membership required. The academy also has food and drinks, water, restrooms, locker rooms, lighting for evening play, and on-site coaching.
We played here as part of a Pickleball Pro Retreats trip, coached by Tom Corfield.
Our take: a proper dedicated facility rather than a repurposed tennis court, and easy for travelling players to drop into without needing to join anything.
We uploaded the match to PBVision and analysed what actually happened on court.
The model's top growth signal from this game: dink consistency — the pair landed only 50% of dinks cleanly, the clearest opportunity in the data. Legal third shots were also inconsistent, landing in bounds just 67% of the time.

Would we go back? Yes — a well-equipped dedicated facility with a genuinely competitive game on offer, even if this one didn't go our way on the scoreboard.
A members-only club closer to the city centre, with 4 outdoor hard courts, permanent lines, portable nets, and lights. Court reservations are available for members.
A hard-surface setup in Puerto de la Torre with permanent lines, portable nets, lighting and restrooms on site.
Run by Antonio, an Andalusian Tennis Federation pickleball instructor, who hosts "American-style" games with the local community — mini-games where winners move up a court and losers move down, so you end up playing people at your own level. Bookable as a class, a games session, or both.
Daryl Collins Tennis Academy has the biggest dedicated footprint on the Costa del Sol and doesn't require membership.
Club Deportivo Pickleball Málaga is members-only, so confirm access before heading there as a visitor.
Worth confirming demo equipment availability ahead of time, especially at the smaller venues.
Málaga's pickleball scene is still small compared to the bigger European hubs, but Daryl Collins Tennis Academy gave us a real dedicated facility and a competitive game with no membership friction. Worth a stop if you're on the Costa del Sol.
